I am using Entourage 11.2.4 and Mac OS 10.4.6 on a MacBook Pro and
everything I use in Entourage is on an Exchange server.
Occasionally I receive calendar invitations from users of iCal that are
in the .ics format. I recall being able to add these to my Entourage
calendar in the past, but at least since I started using my MacBook Pro
they no longer work. I don't recall how long I've had this problem,
but it started earlier this year. It doesn't return an error or
anything, but just doesn't respond at all when I open the .ics file.
I did a test from my own iCal and if I drag the event to the desktop
and then open it to Entourage (I changed the "open with" command from
the get info window) then it imports fine. If I receive the file via
mail Entourage does nothing with it. I notice that the file name
differs depending on which scenario is used. When I drag the event to
the desktop the file name is 'event title'.ics. When the event is
emailed the file name is 'current date-######.ics. I have no idea if
this is relevant so I decided to include it.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tom
