Idenity Database

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop Launched Entourage, received message:

"This identity cannot be opened with this version of Entourage"

Never had this problem before. Launched the other components of Office and they launched OK but there was a warning message that there were problems with the database file or that it was corrupted. Suggested I use the database utility. Did a verification and was told there were problems and suggested to rebuild file. After rebuilding launched Entourage and got the same message as before.

Tried uninstalling Office and then reinstalling with the same result. I thing the database is hosed but I don't know where it is stored or how to create a new dadabase file.

Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

"This Identity Cannot Be Opened With This Version of Entourage"
This message usually means, for example, any Identity saved with a 12.1.0 or
later version will not open in 12.0.0 or 12.0.1. Since there was a database
format change in 12.1.0 (SP1), Entourage 12.0.0 or 12.0.1 cannot open a
database saved in the later version.

Entourage 2004 also had a database upgrade from the original release. Once
you upgrade, the Identity will open.
