Identify contents of sealed office software

I just purchased what I thought was Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business
Edition.

When it arrived the sealed Microsoft package was labelled:
"Discovering Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business"
-------------

But there is a BOOK by that name, and I want to insure I have the Office
Software and not just a copy of a book before I open the package.

It has a Certificate of Authenticity and a Product Key and the following
numbers:
barcode: 979890132
unknown: X03-68684
barcode: P23P0939

Does anyone know how to tell what is inside the package?

From where did you purchase this item?

I bought it from a seller with a good rating at half.com
(but I don't know why that would matter to identifying
the contents of the sealed Microsoft package).

It matters as you could be a victim of not reading the fine print or bait
and switch. Does half.com offer refunds? What was the price you paid for
the software? Depending on the price, you may have been blinded by what you
thought was an incredible bargain, but, as the saying goes, if it sounds too
good to be true, it probably is.

Office Small Business Edition, at full retail, is ~$450, upgrade edition is
~ $279. If your purchase is substantially less than these prices, I would
be worried.

That assumes that I've got the wrong thing. I still need someone to help
identify what the heck is really inside the package, because Microsoft's
lousy packaging doesn't say. It MAY very well be the right thing. I can't
very well complain to the seller or to half.com if I have the correct product.

Does anyone know how I could ask Microsoft's marketing people what is inside
this sealed package...

I should think it's the CD that comes with the book of the same name: ie
it's got the book plus various add-ins and templates etc etc on it, *NOT*
the actual applications themselves.

but I rarely am able to locate anything useful on their site.

But, based on what I saw on the page you listed, I have opened the
software package and installed Office. It is the full package and my
worries were not necessary.
