Identify in PS who works for each resource manager

Hi,
We have about 5 managers with groups of employees/resources under them.
How do I configure Project Server to know which resouces go with which
manager?

Thanks much in advance,
Gary

Hello Gary,

1. Define a Resource Breakdown Structure (RBS) [Enterprise Resource
Outline Code 30] that matches your organization's structure.

2. Set the Category for each manager to My Organization.

3. Add each managerto the Resource Managers group.

You will need to do the following to get Project Server to see "who reports
to whom" in your organization:

1. Build an outline code that mimics your company's "org chart" in the RBS
outline code field
2. Specify an RBS value for each resource in the Enterprise Resource Pool
to show "who reports to whom"
3. Add your managers to the Resource Managers group in PWA

Hope this helps.

Step 2 is not necessary for the solution. It also is not an advisable
practice as it can cause confusion for Administrators. Best is to assign
users to groups, and then associate groups with categories.
