Identifying Error during export

M

Mike

I am exporting an Excel file to Access 2000. All I am
getting is an error message. The error message does not
explain where the error is. Is there an error table in
Access ? or is there a better way to find the formatting
error in EXCEL that is causing this problem.

The message says
" An error occured trying to import a file (the path name
of the file). Import failed"

Would you like to explain what the error message is?

Mike, first you say you are exporting, now you say importing. I've never
seen the error message you quote, and I can't find it in the Microsoft
Knowledge base or via Google.

If you're trying to import data to an Access table from an Excel
worksheet whose column headers don't match the Access field names, first
import to a temporary table and then use an append query to move the
data to the correct fields. Otherwise, please explain just what you're
doing and post the exact text of the error message including any error
number.
