A recent mishap while syncing my Palm Pilot resulted in losing all data
from the Entourage calender and address book. In my backup files a
have a good copy of the identity database which should contain the lost
information. When I try to replace the bad database, I get a message
that the database can't be replaced because it is in use. I have quit
all MS software but still have the same problem. Any ideas?

I figured out how to do this. Created a new identity. Switched
Entourage to that identity then replaced the database. Still didn't
recover my data!
