When I start Outlook 2007 I get a pop up telling me that Outlook has
identified a "potential security concern" and has disabled the add-in. I
then click "Disable application addin" to disable the already disabled
addin. However next time I start Outlook the pop up is there again telling
me Outlook has disabled the application addin I disabled last time. I
presume that when I disabled it last time, Outlook didn't really disable it,
it was only pretending. And so I disable it yet again.
The addin is "mssphtbl.dll". In Tools/Trust Centre/COM Addins the dll is
linked to "Windows Search email Indexer" and is disabled (funny about that.)
This looks OK so I try to enable it, but I get a message telling me I can't
because "The connected state of Office Add-Ins registered in HKLM cannot be
changed."
Not only is the user dialogue totally ineffective, this is Microsoft
software complaining about Microsoft software being a potential security
concern?
How do I either enable or disable the add-in, one way or the other, to stop
the idiotic popup each time?
TIA
