IDX Files

I've suddenly got 100's of IDX files in 'My Documents'.

How do i find out where they're from and is there a quick way of getting rid
of them?

I've been holding Ctrl down and clicking each 1 with the mouse to delete
them but it's going to take days.
How can i stop them reappearing.

Thank you soooo much for that tip. It's saved me loads of time. I think there
were about 5000 all together! I just need to know where they're from now.

They are probably index files, from some sort of database.
In Explorer examine the properties of the file, it should give you a clue as
to what is generating them
