I recently did my first clean installations of WinXP Pro (October 2001) and
Office XP Pro (March 2003). This is volume licensed software that I obtained
through official channels from my employer. I used Windows Update to install
all critical and nearly all recommended patches. However when I try to use
Office Update I get a warning that I need to use at least IE 5.01 when in fact I
am using 6.0.2800. When I forge ahead I am presented a list of 6 patches to
install. When I try to proceed I am shown a EULA popup box which does not have
any button by which I can accept the EULA so the only choice I have is to
abort. What's going on here?
