I recently installed the SP1 for office 2003 and all the
other updates for office. Here's the problem: the icons
for html files (internet explorer) don't appear
correctly. The icon that shows is the one windows uses
for an unknown file or whatever. In Explorer, I went to
Tools/Folder Options/File Types and tried changing them
back, but to no avail. I choose to have .htm, .html
files always open with IE. ...still nothing. I choose
the IE executable in the program files when I try to
change the icon... and that doesn't even work. The only
sort of fix (if you want to call it that) is to do a
system restore and go back before you installed the
updates.
I like keeping all my software up to date with all the
current fixes and patches. Hopefully there is a simple
solution to this issue that can be resolved quickly.
I'm running XP home with all current updates installed.
