IE6 displayes security alerts for JavaScript features.

Re.: IE6.0 blocks scripted features.

I’m using JavaScript (including those built-in with FP2003) for menus and
other features.
When previewing individual web pages or site designed in FP2003 with
Internet Explorer 6.0 (SP2), I receive a security alert, informing me of
possible harmful content which has been blocked. I subsequently can allow
this blocked content to be displayed but this must be repeated each time the
page is loaded.

The major concern is with the impact this type of alert has on the visitors
of my site. Visitors may turn away from the site fearing breach of security
or may not be willing to repeatedly ‘allow blocked content’ for the same web
pages.

What can I do to avoid these problems in the future, while keeping using
JavaScript and other scripted features?

You shouldn't get these alerts when you test the site via http only when testing locally from a
disk-based location.

Correct
- Windows XP SP 2 adds a new security layer to your PC for local files

At your risk
- you can turn it off in IE in Tools Internet Options Advanced
Security
- Allow active content to run in files on my PC

Turn it back on when done testing local files

it will do that if you're previewing on your own system, not if you're
viewing the live site. That's SP2 for you, working as intended.
