IE7 Beta 3 and Groove 3.1 DONT MIX

M

Marc Dimmick

I made an earlier posting with a scrip error I was getting and how none of
my forms were working. I retraced my steps and the main difference I had was
I installed IE 7 Beta 3. So I have uninstalled it which at the end required
a reboot. I then went to reinstall IE6 but it keeps insisting that a
previous installation has pending work and required a reboot.

anyway went back into groove and my forms all came back again. I had
installed the IE7 Beta 3 at home but I am using Groove 2007 and it works
fine. the problem seems to be IE7 and Groove 3.

Dear Marc,

According to your description and my testing, this issue is caused by the
compatibility problem between Groove 3.1 and Internet Explorer 7. Since
Internet Explorer 7 is a new generation of Microsoft Internet Explorer and
there are many functions have been updated or re-designed for IE7. Meanwhile,
please understand that Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 is a beta version
software and it has not been official published. So up to now, the Groove 3.1
does not completely compatible with this version of IE. But based on my
testing, the Groove 2007 can be used well with Internet Explorer 7 and we
will not encounter this issue if we use Groove 2007 with IE7.

I fully understand that the IE7 is Beta and take it would have some issue. I
just made this posting so if someone else came across the same error it
might assit them.
