if & and functions

Dear Sirs,

How to insert a formula with if and "and" functions together. I have list of
customers who buy a number of materials spread over a time horizon. I want
to consolidate the information by customer and material i.e. X customer has
bought a so much quantity of material A. My current data is tabulated in the
format of customer X > date> material A > bill number, i.e. by material ,date
and customer
