If C30>D30,color = green?

In Excel 97, how can I arrange it so that If C30>D30,color
= green?

Use Conditional Formatting

Select C30
Format > Conditional Formatting
Cell Value Is
Greater than
=D30
Format Button
Select Format
OK
OK

I don't have 97 on my machine right now and don't remember the exact menu
items, but the feature you're looking for is called Conditional
Formatting........

Try this.........click on C30, then do Format > Conditional Formatting,
......in the popup box, leave first window on left to say "Cell Value
Is".....in the middle window, select "greater than", and in the rightmost
window type =$D$30, then click the "Format" button, choose the patterns tab,
and select the green you want and click ok........then OK again, and you're
done.......anytime C30 is greater than D30, C30 will become green...........

And if you want the fill color to appear in a cell other
than C30 or D30, say in E30, you could also try ..

Select E30

Click Format > Conditional Formatting

Make the settings under Condition 1:

Formula Is | =C30>D30

Click Format button > Patterns tab > Light green? > Ok

Click OK at the main dialog
