Hi guys, im trying to set up a scoring spreadsheet for the world cu
(not an interest of mine but all in a days work!) im having problem
with one of the formulas..

If the scores for a match are say 3 & 2 and somebody guesses the scor
at being 4 & 2, I want to enter a formula for it to recognise th
winner and award 1 point..

so far I have the following =IF(C7+G7='Winning Scores'!B5+'Winnin
Scores'!D5,"3","0") to work out the points for getting the exact scor
but what I can't work out is what formula to put in to recognise th
winning team..

workbook 1
C7 G7
3 2

workbook 2
C7 G7
4 2

please help!

Hi

Try this:
=IF(OR(AND(C7<G7,'Winning Scores'!B5<'Winning Scores'!D5),AND(C7>G7,'Winning
Scores'!B5>'Winning Scores'!D5)),3,0)

Hope this helps.
Andy.

Try =(AND((C7>G7)=('workbook 2'!C7>'workbook 2'!G7),(C7<G7)=('workbook
2'!C7<'workbook 2'!G7)))

Note that in your other formula you've checked for the total score, not the
exact score, so you'd give 3 points for a 5 & 2 score if the prediction had
been 4 & 3.
Note also that you've written a text value of 3 as your output, not a
number, so you wouldn't be able to add up the points.
