IF function to grab data

i have a list of names with data on multiple pages with the same names on
each page

i want to create a summary page that finds the name from each page and then
averages the data associated with that name

is there a way i can search an entire column to say if one of these rows in
the column ="paul" then average the data in the 4th column of paul's row to
the data on the 4th column of paul's row on another page (which could be
dfferent rows)

You need to utilize the countif function
