IF Function

This calculation is for an Asset Register.

I have columns of Cost, Rate, No. of Days(YTD), CF
Depreciation, Depreciation(cost*rate*days/no. of year
days), Cumul Dep (CF Dep+Depreciation) & Net Book Value
(Cost-Cumul Dep)

Please suggest a function to the Depreciation column where
by the Cumul Dep must not be more than the Cost. I tried
using the IF function but could not succeed.

days,(Cost-CF Depreciation),cost*rate*days/no. of year
days)
