I'm having problems sending email through AOL using outlook 2003. the following

Task 'UDSimap.aol.com - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC6F) : 'Your
outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue
to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet
service provider (ISP). The server responded: 554 TRANSACTION FAILED'

If I reinstall outlook, will I retain my current contacts and othere saved
data ?

The first thing to try if you have an antivirus program integrated with
Outlook is to disable that integration. It could be your ISP server problem
as well. ISPs generally do not admit it when they have problems, however.

Your mail server is saying that there are no recipients in the "RCPT" SMTP
command is it receiving from your client. Enable diagnostic logging and
look at exactly what's passing between your client and server to see where
the problem may lie.

I used your suggestions and finally spoke to my ISP, I'm not sure if they
did something or that simply retyping my password while being on hold forever
solved the problem, but now it works. Thanks for your help and the links
which have helped in some other areas..
