If - Then Application

A form in Access 2000, XP Professional is required to show an X in a text box
if the file number on another form contains a specific event type ID. If
Event_Type_ID = 81, Then chkbx = "true". Does anyone have VB that will
accomplish this task? I am a novice and have had no formal training, but I
believe this can be done and would greatly appreciate anyone's help in this
task.
