"IF" variables in project

Can I create an "if" relationship between 2 tasks.? Eg. I have a task that
involves technical drawings. Once the drawings have been completed & checked
they go to the client for review. If the client is happy the next step of the
process is "internal sign off", if the client wants changes, the drawing &
checking process must reoccur (under a different summary task called
"extended D/O hours"). If "Client review" = 100% then "Internal sign off"
must pick up the client review finsh date, If the "Client Review" does not =
100 %, the task "extended drawing time" must come into effect. This sounds
very complicated, but in this process I have 2 scenarios that could occur & I
cannot plan which will be the actual. Is there another way of doing this?
I know that I can create a custom field with an IIF statement, but then I am
not sure how to track the % complete or how to calculate the total hours
spent on the drawing.

Thanx

Hi,

I'm afraid you'll have to decide which is the most likely and plan that
one - change it when necessary.
Project will only calculate one plan at the time.

Hope this helps.

Project does not allow conditional branching. However, this behavior can be
modeled with Risk+ and you can estimate your total task duration according to
the probabilities you set for the branches.

This type of customer redirection is normally a risk item. Assign some risk
money to it, save it as a planning package. In the worst case, assume a
reasonable amount of rework. Your customer will never be mad if you deliver
early if no additional rework is required.
