if we uninstall '07 home and office, can it be reinstalled on a new hard drive ?

We have Office 2007 Home & Student and have used all 3 licenses on our families pc's. My husband wants to install a larger hard drive in my pc and thinks if we "uninstall" Office first, then we can install it on the new hard drive using the same license. Is this true? How can that work? How does it know it's not the same drive?

Thought I should check with the pros before he does his thing to "my" computer! <L>
thanks,
Ann

perfectly OK to do that.....you may have to activate by telephone....

You will likely not have any problem doing this at all. You really don't
even need to uninstall it before changing the hard drive. Minor hardware
changes will not result in license issues. If you change a lot of the
computer's hardware at once, then you might experience issues, but that can
usually be cleared up by activating over the telephone. But, for your
situation, you should be able to activate over the Internet with no problem
whatsoever.
