ignore save message on embedded read only projects

I have a few embedded projects that are read only but most are not. Is there
a way to save all the projects except the read only ones. I looked into
..saved = true but the property does not pertain to the subproject object
according to the project library. Im using SP2 and project 07. i write
procedures in vba. application.displayalerts = false doesnt work either,
since the prompt is a question rather than an alert. thanks for any help
