IIS Lock Down Tool Removed ProjectServer Virutal Directory

C

Clint

Hello,

I had to remove the IIS Lock down tool settings from my server and it caused
my ProjectServer virutal directory to be remove (among others). Now Project
Pro can't connect to the server. I haven't been able to locate any
documentation that list the neccessary Execute Permissions, Default
Document(s) or Directory Security setting necessary for Project to work.

I've been able to guess my way through partially, but I'm still getting
errors.

I'd rather not uninstall and reinstall because I haven't found documentation
indicating how to bring back the project info already existing (I haven't
looked to hard for this I'll admit). We've been using Project for over a
year and I don't want to loose the projects...

Enviroment: SBS2000, single server, no SharePoint Services/Portal.

I suspect you might have removed the ProjectServer virtual directory during
IISLockdown installation.

Try these links.

2. How To Undo Changes Made by the IIS Lockdown Wizard

3. IIS Lockdown Walkthrough

These will give you some reference, from where you can start troubleshooting.

Hi Faisal,

Thanks for the links.

IISLockdown was installed before Project Server, I had to remove IISLockdown
because it wasn't configured properly for an Exchange Server and caused
Public Folder issues, however, those have been resolved now.

ProjectServer was removed at some point during the unistall-reinstall of
IISLockdown.

What I need to know, is the security settings regarding the Virtual
directory and the default document, or how to reinstall Project w/o losing my
projects.

If you could check the security on your ProjectServer Virtual directory and
let me know what the settings are that will probably clear this up.

Thanks,

- Clint

Hi Faisal,

Thanks for the link, I should have clued in earlier that disaster recovery
was what I needed to be looking for.

Thanks again.
