IIS Server timeout while publishing from ISP

V

Vera Cabanus

After hardware crash, I am trying to publish web sites from ISP back to my
PC running Window XP Pro, FP2002, FP2002 ext. but each and every web sites
keeps timing out from one ISP (Server timed out message). I had no problem
with another ISP.
ISP is softcomca, I sent 3 emails since yesterday, but have not heard back
from anyone as yet.

ANY suggestion, help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Vera

You need to wait until they change the server timeout

If you have a lot of large size media in the web
Open the online web in FP, move the media to a folder and convert that folder to a subweb, publish w/o subwebs
Then open the local, create an empty folder by same name and convert it to a subweb
You can try just coping / pasting the media between subwebs or using FTP for the media content
(when all done convert the subweb back to a folder on each FP web location)

This is a small site - I revamped it so that it hardly has anything on it -
the problem is that the server says they have reset the extensions,
lengthened the time out - but I can't open it either live on the internet,
or from within FP - it immediately times out - it doesn't even do anything
now -

is it possible that it is the server or fp? it seems like it would be fp
..... been having these problems since I updated to 2002

thanks for any help...

thanks! got everything fixed - apparently it had something to do with Xara
menumaker and its corruption on my computer (it kept coming up saying
something about not having the resources or something) so I deleted
xaramenumaker from myprograms - and then reinstalled it - re-optimized the
computer - after deleting all .tmp and .web files ....and BINGO everything
is working now - I can publish all webs to server - ect ect...open menumaker
..... strange how things work ... one thing breaks and the whole thing falls
apart :)

thanks for being there!
