I'll bring up the XNPV issue again

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel When you import an excel spreadsheet from a PC into excel 2008 or when you change the cashflow XNPV is based on, you get the '#NUM!' error. This issue was first documented in 2008 in this forum but it has yet to be addressed to my knowledge.

I submit feedback via help> send feedback about excel, but I have not seen a solution.

Any idea when one should expect a fix to this relatively simple problem?

It's possible this was fixed in updates on both the Mac and the PC side.
Have Office and OS updates been installed on computers on both sides of
this problem? Was the workbook saved again after the updates were installed?

And, further to Jim's comments, posting feedback to Microsoft is
definitely processed by Microsoft. You should not expect a response, nor
is it reasonable to expect that the problem will be addressed
immediately. It first must be evaluated, and a determination of how best
to address the issue and when to allocate development and testing
resources to the solution. rest assure that your feedback is recognized
but have reasonable expectations as to how it fits into the overall
development plans.

Thanks for the quick response.

I am running excel 2008 12.2.3 in OS X. I believe that is the most recent update. XNPV displays correctly and automatically updates in excel 2007 in XP, so it's limited to excel 2008. I see it on my computer as well as colleagues running excel 2008.

XinXin

Hi, can you send me ([email protected]) a repro (including the workbook and the steps leading to the error)? I'd be happy to investigate this issue.

Thanks,

Be sure to read the message from XinXin and send XinZin a workbook that
demonstrates the problem. He really is the test lead at Microsoft's Mac
Business unit. He can get this fixed if he can reproduce the problem.
