Hi:
My copy of MS Word 2000, which came with Office 200 premium has developed a
strange corruption: The program opens fine and all functions, fancy and
otherwise, seem to be working, as long as one does not try to call up any
function in the File Menu. As soon as you click on the word File, or if you
type Alt-F, the following message appears:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
WINWORD caused an invalid page fault in
module WINWORD.EXE at 0167:303e4fbd.
Follwing this number of registers are listed, followed by some stack dumps.
I've tried "detect and repair." I've removed all of Office and re-installed
it. I've even deleted the data key. No help. Perhaps my work on a graphics,
cross-reference, comment laden file has caused the problem, but what to do
to cure it?
