Illegal operation

When I try to print a document in microsoft word ( windows 98) I get a little
window that pops up saying "this program has performed an illegal operation
and will be shut down." The same little window pops up when we click on
solitaire. Solitaire wont even open, just the little window pops up. I have
tried uninstalling and installing Sol twice. No luck! Any suggestions??

I tried that, Thank you, but it didn't help. I did recently install a
different printer. It installed correctly. Or am I missing something?
