Hello everybody,

now my problem turns out to be more complicated than i thought it would be. earlier this year i started working with a macbook pro and therefor with the new office. on my old pc i always used to create special graphics for my presentations with the coreldraw program and then inserted them in powerpoint. there, i was able to add to all the parts of my graphic individual effects and colours and so on... just imagine for instance a circle which is divided into 5 parts (some kinda cake :)

since i switched on mac, i started using the illustrator of adobe. with this program you are also able to save the graphic just as with coreldraw as WMF data. but then when i insert my graphic in my powerpoint presentation, powerpoint looks at it like it is one whole image and not like a graphic with different parts. so therefor i am also not able to add different effects to all the individual parts of my circle which is really really sad.

can anybody help me with this problem? i hope i explained it good enough...

cheers

You need to save your Illustrator graphics in a vector graphics format that PowerPoint
can import and ungroup. Vector graphics are made up of lines, shapes, text and such,
rather than collections of colored dots. I don't have Illo, but if you want to reply
with a list of the available Save As formats, one of us can tell you which are vector
and which are not.

Or you could try saving as each of the available formats and bring them into PPT to see
if you can ungroup. PNG, JPG, TIF are NOT vector; no need to bother with them. PPT
doesn't import AI files, and won't be able to ungroup EPS or PDFs, so don't bother with
them either.
