I'm getting a block of cells when I move the mouse. How do I get .

Excel user with problem

All of a sudden I began getting a block of cells when I move the mouse
pointer to enter data into a cell. In other words, my pointer is collecting
a group of cells. What did I do wrong and what can I do to return to single
cell entry. Now, it is like I am framing a bunch of cells to cut, paste,
etc.

First check you are not in Extended mode (Press F8)

If this does not fix it, you have an issue with your wheel mouse. Try
tapping the wheel a few times. If this works, fine, if not un-install and
re-install the drivers for the mouse
