This is the second time this has happened. The previous time, I finally
restored my system from a ghost file.
I was typing in Word, when my hand spasmed and I hit an unknown sequence of
key combinations. My computer typed two hebrew characters (I did not have
Hebrew installed as an alternate language) then returned to typing in English
characters in reverse.
Words begin typing on the left side of the screen and push to the right. My
language bar is set to English, my paragraph setting is left to right.
(PLEASE do not tell me to check the paragraph direction setting.) If I
change the paragraph setting to right to left, the text moves to the right
margin and continues to type backwards.
If I try to go into Greek, the characters are still Latin. I installed
Hebrew under regions and languages, went into Hebrew mode, but only get Latin
characters even though the cursor indicates it has shifted to right to left.
Changing back to English does not restore the setting.
Last time this happened I uninstalled and reinstalled Word, without remedy.
If I am on an empty line with text above it, neither the backspace nor
delete keys will move to the previous line.
I'm stymied. Anyone?
Thanks,
Mark A. Ellis
