I'm Lost with Norton

Installed Norton and now Office XP locks up and logs on as
Office Home. Insists on a password at log-in yet never
entered one. Tried going to safe-mode and will not. Can
not get to even the start button. Any suggestions, other
than blowing the thing up. Please reply to
