Im realy frustrated/ STS problem!!

Hi everybody,

Our project server has been working fine for the last 5
months and all of the sudden it stopped creating Subwebs
automatically and when I try to create subwebs manually I
get the famous error message: **Subweb does not seem to
exist** I ran COM+ and PROXYCFG twice, Synchronized the
administrator accounts, my STS account has the right role
and permissions and every thing looks fine. I created a
subweb in the STS page and went back to PWA and pointed
the new subweb to a project that didnt have subweb and it
took it. But I like to know why it stopped creating
subwebs after working fine for 5 months?
If any body could please help me I would really appreciate
it, I have read all the other postings about this but it
didnt help.

When you re-ran the proxycfg utility, did you change the name of the proxy
server you're using? These settings can come unglued for some reason and to
restore them, you must use a different proxyserver name to get the system to
refresh the settings. Rerunning proxycfg.exe using the same exact name
accomplishes nothing. If you're using an actual proxy server, run proxycfg
with a phony name and then run it again to change it back.

The other thing you should check is to make sure that the COM+ STSAdmin
account hasn't been removed from local administrators group and that it
still has security administrator role in the database. Sometimes
well-meaning admins change these things.
