I'm using WBS predecessors but project won't let me type them.

LMMBLS?

Earlier in the life of this MS 2000 Project Plan I could type wbs
predecessors in the wbs predecessor field but now nothing can be entered in
the field either through typing or cut and paste. When I use the regular
predecessor field it then updates the predecessor but it won't let me enter
directly.

Hi LMMBLS?,

In Project 2002 & 2003 the WBS Predecessor field is calculated by Project
and you cannot enter into the field. I don't have Project 2000 handy to
check, so based upon you comments below, I assume the type was changed to
calculated.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

LMMBLS,
It must have been earlier than anything publicly released for Project
2000 because Project 2000 acts the same way as current Project versions.
Earlier versions of Project (i.e. Project 98 and earlier didn't even
have a WBS Predecessor field). As Julie noted the WBS Predecessors and
Successors fields are information fields (i.e. calculated by Project -
not editable by the user). Are you sure you're not thinking of Unique ID
Predecessors, because that field WILL accept user input.
