image alt text question

In FrontPage 2000 is there a way to assign alt text to an image so that
where ever you place it in your web site the text is automatically
included? Or am I stuck retyping it for every page that contains the
image?

Put the image in an include page containing
just the image and the alt text, and include the page.

It's a workaround anyway.
It would be nice if we could give an
image file a default "alt" tag though.
Never thought about it until you asked.

Thanks for the tip. I've done this with menu bars but never with
pictures.

If you copy the image from the first page to all other pages, then it will
also copy the alt text.

Sometimes when I copy and paste FrontPage looses the reference for the image
and it ends up pointing to my local computer after I publish.

Make sure you always have a web open (File Menu | Open Web) first and you
shouldn't have this issue, as well as making sure that all images have been
imported into your open web prior to using them.

Tom: Be sure you have saved the page that you first inserted the image
into, prior to copying the image (or any other content) to another page.

If you both are doing this, then I am not sure what you two are doing wrong,
as it has always works for me, I just did one to be sure.

I have.

I'm not doing anything wrong, Tom. I know a little bit about images and FP.

I hope so! <g>
