image attachments

In Windows 7 when I send images as attachments the properties of the image
including the date originally created all change to the time of attaching to
the message. For record reasons I want the date cerated to remain "as is".
How do I achieve this? This didn't happen in XP....

You cannot change the file properties but the meta data of the picture (date
taken, camera details, etc...) should remain the same.
If you want to keep the file properties the same as well, you can try
sending it in a zip-file.

Your images can be getting automatically re-sized. Send the original
size image and it should be OK.

I know the meta data doesn't change and I can get a little program to "undo"
the changes made in transmission. I have trouble accepting thatn it can't be
done in any other way. Seems avery backward step in the software development?

Do yourself a BIG favour and ditch the horrible web interface. Use a
news reader instead.

government agencies who have been able to right click on the image and see

Like I said, your images are getting resized and that results in
modified or stripped EXIF data.

I think you are referring to the embedded EXIF data (which camera took
the image, at what time, at what resolution etc).

If you send an image without resizing it, which is explained in the
video I linked to this thread, the EXIF data will remain intact.
