image doesn't show when inline with text

hello,

When I insert a picture, only the bottom of it shows and it doesn't
get placed at the cursor location. Rather, it is placed such that it
begins from the top of the page.
I use a IEEE TVCG 2 column template. This problem occurred when I did
it in the 1st column. I changed the format to 'square" and then back
to "inline with text" and somehow it got fixed. However, can't fix it
for the picture I am trying to insert into the 2nd column.

What should I do?
Thanks,

Alex

When you can see only the bottom of an inline image, that means the
line spacing for the containing paragraph is set to an "Exactly"
measurement. Go to the Format > Paragraph dialog and change the line
spacing setting to "At Least" to allow the line height to grow to the
size of the picture.
