Image in table

Hi,

I am using word for 4-5 years & never saw such a simple
problem. I have a table of 1x1 & a image in it. It shows 1
line below the image. I am trying to delete that line, but
can not. I tried using hide/unhide, options of table
properties & delete, still its there & cursor blinks on
this line inside the table. I tried new totally new doc &
it works fine. I think it has to do something with
previous "style"...

Any clues?

Thanx

By "line" do you mean an actual *line* (such as a graphic line or border) or
extra space for a line of text?

The sample was a little puzzling to me. The graphic had white circular
handles and a rotation handle, indicating that it was wrapped, which seems
unnecessary in this instance. When I went to Format Picture | Layout, none
of the wrapping options appeared to be selected, but if I change the
wrapping to "In line with text," that solves the problem.
