Image is blank

Running word 2003 with SP2
Insert -> Picture -> from file
Select one of the sampe images.
The images will not display, just the box around it.

However, if I run winword /a I can see the image fine...

But when I start word normally I am back to blank pictures.

Anyone?

Make sure that "Picture placeholders" is not checked on the View tab of
Tools | Options.
