Image Tables

I'm using the Image Control in Access, I have a combination of Embedded
and Linked Images. On the forms with more than 6 Images I Embed, less
than 6 I Link. My qustion is, I see where some people build a table and
store the paths for the images, I'm using a folder. Does the table make
loading the images faster? What is the reson for the table?
