images from sqlserver not displaying

I have an access project running on several desktops, some have full and some
runtime licence. One new setup runtime machine does not display images in
reports that work fine elsewhere. Images are in an "Image" field in the
sqlserver table. Reports all run fine, no errors, all the text, but no
pictures. Presumable the machine is missing something, but What?
