images in body of emails

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: imap Following a now dead unanswered question (see quote below)....

How is it that some images drag successfully and others do not, even though the source and format are identical (eg photos from iphoto, dragged onto my desktop, then dragged into the body of an email).
