Images in Windows PPT

Hi

My son is preparing a Powerpoint presentation for school with two other
boys. They are working on this together and separately. So, here are
some questions.

I have prepared powerpoint presentations on my Mac (PowerPoint 2004 for
Mac) and have used them on PCs in the past without any problems.

He prepared a sixty slide presentation and met with the other guys and
put his CD with his presentation on a PC. His presentation looks great
but one problem - NO IMAGES!!!

The really odd thing is the message where the images should be:

"quickTime and a TIFF (Uncompressed) decompressor are needed to see
this picture"

Huh? What is this all about?

I tried saving the file as a PPT Package on the Mac and still I get
that message on the PC. I have tried the file aon another Mac and no
problem.

These image files he is using were just simple "drag and drops" from
webpages.

You answered your own question (in the last line). Copy and paste or drag
and drop from the Web causes problems. I'm not sure if there is an easier
fix, but one thing that will work is to save the images from the Web and
use Insert > Picture > From File. I had this same problem yesterday in
Word. Fortunately for me, I only had one picture to re-insert.

Thank you everybody!

I figured it out before I read your messages.

I guess MS doesn't like to support Apple products (i.e. Quicktime)
although MS Office for the Mac is great!

My next issue is why does PPT for windows automaticaly default to
linking sounds in a presentation as opposed to the way the Mac does it
and embed the sounds in the presentation.

I have read a bit about this but it is just nuts when you embed a sound
in the Mac PPT file and in Windows it can't find that .aif file and
play it.

so we are working on getting that done.
