Images no longer showing

Brett Mason

I have a client using powerpoint 2003 SP2 with all service packs. When first
using his laptop during the day with normal activities such as email word etc
editing his rather large powerpoint files (50-100 slides with images on most)
is working fine. Later in the day when viewing the file(s) in normal view you
cannot see the images but when viewing as a slide show it works fine. If he
reboots the laptop all works fine again. He doesn't have a second screen
plugged in. THe laptop is 1 year old with 512meg ram but even when the
problem occurs using task manager to look at the memory usage he is still
within the physical memory limit before paging.

Is there some sort of tweaking required by powerpoint?

Thanks in advance,

Brett

My motto - 'the less you give powerpoint to do the better'

It sounds like a memory leakage / bad graphics card driver / something else
running at the same time / to me

These 'images' in the presentation - are they for on-screen use only?
Perhaps they have too many pixels in them for what is needed ?

I'd also consider updating the graphics card drivers for the laptop.

If there is still a problem I'd try this..

How to set graphics hardware acceleration back (also known as the 'how far
do you want to push your luck' slider)

You know what? I dont use Powerpoint to put in all my images anymore. I use
Freepath, a new program. OK, so I don’t usually download programs that look
like just another PowerPoint. Someone forwarded this thing to me called
Freepath. They said it would play Powerpoint with a Quicktime movie, and anl
your images. Put a PowerPoint in, and then put all your images in, and just
click and your off. It shows word too, even excel and web sites.
