Images not appearing in 2007

I am having an issue with word documents that were created in Word 2003
images not appearing in Word 2007.

Instead of the imaging showing in 2007 I get a black box.

If I open the same file in 2003 version the image appears.

Does anyone know why this would be happening?

Are the images linked to the document? In some cases at least, links are
broken by the 2003 document being opened in 2007. If this is the situation,
a work around would be to unlink the images in Word 2003 and save the
document in that version before opening it in 2007.

I openned an 2003 document using Word 2007 earlier and the images showed but
now the images cannot be viewed directly. The images were pasted into the
file not as links. I have to go to Print Preview and the images show. This
is frustrating during the editing. I have saved the document as 2007 but the
problem exists. How can I fix this?

Click on the Office (Pizza) button and then on Word Options in the bottom
border of the dialog and then on Advanced and go to the Show document
content section of the dialog and make sure that the Show picture
placeholders item is not checked.
