Images Not displaying in emails

All of a sudden when someone send me an email with a pasted screen
print in it or even a signature image in their signature box, it does
not display. It has a red X and says Picture (Device Independent
Bitmap).

I have gone into the options to make sure it downloads all pictures
and that setting was never checked so it should have all along.

The funny thing is that when I reply, it shows the images. Just when
I open to read the email it doesn't display. There is no message up
in the toolbar to download images or anything like that either like I
have seen as I am trying to research this problem.

This is a new thing. The computer was working fine. I am not sure
what I installed to cause this (nothing I am aware of) but for some
reason pictures are not viewable in the incoming emails.

Any help woudl be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have my manager having the same issue. It stopped working 6-8 weeks
ago before I was hired at my current job. What I have found is that it is
profile specific, I logged onto her computer with my user account and was
able to view the forwarded attachment just fine in Outlook, the settings were
the same for viewing the pictures.
I then asked her to do a "Detect and Repair without checking the two
option boxes for restoring shortcuts and restoring default custimizations.
The picture still will not display with her profile. However if I have her
right click on where the image should be and paste it into Word 2003 the
image shows correctly in Word 2003.
It is not an ideal situation but hopefully will be able to be used as a
workaround until the true cause of the issue is isolated. She also did not
manually install any files.
