Images not printing

O

Ondine

Hi

I have a client who has been running an Access 97 database for several
years. The system provides reports with various images which are embedded at
runtime. This has been working fine until now: she claims that she can see
the images in print preview but when printing them they are replaced by a
blank space or just a border. This must have something to do with her pc's
printer settings, as other users are not experiencing this problem even when
printing to the same printer. She is running windows xp, I think there may
have been some hardware changes to her pc recently, but the people who did
that are not taking responsibility!

I imagine there is probably some obvious setting which needs to be changed
but can't find anything on the web and have not come across this one before.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks.

Tell her to increase the output resolution of the selected Printer Driver.

It's a Printer Driver setting. Some drivers directly expose a Resolution
property in DPI. The default is usually 300 DPI. ASk her to change it to 600
if it supports it. Other printer drivers encode the resolution setting as a
Quality property such as Low, Med and High.

Many thanks for your help with this. Turns out the printer settings
preferences were on 'Fast Normal' for output: changing it to 'Normal' solved
the problem. I was aware that using the Draft setting tends to ignore
graphics, but didn't think they were likely to have chosen that option.

Thanks again!

Ondine.
