Images not visible

I have Office 2004 installed on two separate machines. When I open a
file sent to me by a friend using a windows environment on my G4 dual 1
ghz machine the images contained are clearly visible. If I transfer
the same file to my 15" 1.67 ghz Powerbook (not intel) these same
images are not visible. The spaces for them are clearly visible and
the images can be edited if I select the region for the image. Is
there something in the preferences which determines whether images are
visible?

Preferences/View. Uncheck the "Images placeholders" checkbox.
