Images on Word document disappear

I have a PC with Window XP Professional as OS and Office
2003 installed. It was working fine until I apply the SP2
for the Windows XP. After applied SP2, the images in word
document are disappear (except for those with wrapping
style inline with text).
I have make sure that I am at the correct setting to view
the images: i.e.

1. With print layout
2. Drawing option is turn on in view tab
3. Drawing Objects is turn on in print tab
3. Draft output is turn off in print tab
4. Pictures placeholder is turn off in view tab

if I right click at the image and do some change to the
setting (maybe just change and change back at the same
time with no actual change) then the image will reappear.
But it will disappear again when the document is reopen
after save.

Remove the SP2 for windows XP but the problem stay.
Search the knowledgebase but no answer. Any one can help?

Try reducing or turning off hardware acceleration in Start | Control
Panel | Display | Settings | Advanced | Troubleshoot.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, it does not work, I
try turning off hardware acceleration and change it to
different level of acceleration but the problem remain.

I also realise that the images that disappear is place in
a text box. Does this affect? Anyhow the documents had
been in use without problem for sometime until the XP SP2
installation.

Any other ideal?

The fact that you can see inline objects but not floating objects
suggests that you are working in Normal view. Are you sure you are
working in Print Layout view?

Yes, Very Very Sure as I have check and even change among
different layout view to test out.

Try selecting a different default printer in Windows. Does the problem
persist?

I'm having the same problem. It seems to affect our new dell optiplex
computers with Office 2003, and SP2. My laptop, an IBM t40 with
office 2003 and sp2, doesn't have the problems.

Any ideas? I've already tried the suggestions posted, and as well as
installing new video drivers.

Intel has confirmed that it is a problem with their driver for the
82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family of display adapters. They say
that they will address the problem in a new release of the driver.

If anyone having this problem will email me the service tag for your
PC, we can demonstrate clearly to Dell that the problem is occurring on
many PCs (I have an open incident with Dell regarding this issue).
Reducing the graphics acceleration a level below that which DirectX
uses is a temporary workaround.

Thanks for your help!
