Images rotated 180 degrees

Recently upgraded a user from Word 2001 (or whatever the last classic
version was called) to Word 2004 for Mac. She has several documents created
in 2001 that had embedded photographs. When these are opened in Word 2004
the pictures are inverted. Have beaten my head against it for a while
without success. All suggestions welcome.

Hi Daniel-

I'm not sure why this is happening, but there is an immediate fix for
any of those docs that need to be printed now. If you have tried this
and it didn't work, there must be something more going on.
Unfortunately it will have to be done for each picture. The good news
is that once done & saved the file should stay that way.

Click on a picture which should produce the Picture Toolbar. If it
doesn't, you can either go to the Format menu & select Picture or go to
the View menu>Toolbars>Picture. On the toolbar, click the button for
Format Picture, and that will launch a dialog box. There is a Rotate
setting in there that you can use to get the image "upright" again.

I know 2004 handles graphics somewhat differently than previous
versions, but I'm not up on the particulars. Perhaps one of the MVPs
will respond with a more permanent fix.

Hope this helps! If I come up with any other ideas I'll post them
here|:>)

Thanks - we have been able to do this, but there are several years worth of
documents - a long and tedious process.

I posted in another news group last fall, and the only response was from
someone else with the same problem.

I honestly don¹t know if this will work or even makes sense. Just occurred
to me....

Can you save in RTF or maybe in HTML (if 2001 does that).

Of course, it¹s probably too late? She trashed 2001?

Best,

- Bill

Files were saved to a server. User is no longer using the original computer.
And once again, just as tedious.

Ah well.
