iManage Mailsite 8 loading issues when Outlook 2003 starts

We are using iManage / Interwoven Mailsite 8 plugin for Outlook 2003 sp2 and
we are having issues when Outlook first starts up. Mailsite will not load if
Outlook did not close cleanly the last time so when we start Outlook we get a
Mailsite has errored message and then it does not load. We have to restart
Outlook again to get it to load but since Outlook takes 10 to 20 seconds to
close users quickly relaunch Outlook in another session while the first
Outlook is still closing in memory. This causes Mailsite to error for a
second time. Its a big pain.

Mailsite has confirmed that they have seen this issue and are working on the
fix but has anyone successfully found a workaround to work with this problem.

We are also seeing a lot of slowness in Outlook 2003 sp2 when opening large
mail folders and random timeouts with the server. We have not updated to
Exchange sp2 yet and was wondering if that will help with the slowness issue
in Outlook 2003. Out Outlook 2000 has not issues.
